After two losses and a tie against the Dodge City A’s, the Liberal Bee Jays finally got one against the A’s Sunday night at Cavalier Field in Dodge City.  The B.J.’s out slugged the A’s in a non league game 14-8.

Dodge City scored in the first before both teams scored a run in the third.  The A’s led 3-1 after they scored in the fourth.   But the Jays got going with three in the fifth and four in the sixth to lead 8-3 mid sixth.  Dodge scored two in the bottom of the sixth to make it 8-5.  But the B.J.’s scored two in the seventh and four in the eighth to lead 14-5.  Dodge scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth.

Liberal out-hit Dodge City 19-12.  The Bee Jays had three errors and the A’s had one.

Cooper Kardokus had a big game going 4-5 with two doubles and three RBI’s.  Josiah Rojas was 4-6 with a triple and a  double.  Trenton Uyeda was 3-6 with a home run and three RBI’s.  Seth Green was 2-5 with a home run, three RBI’s, and two runs.  Noah Giovanelli was 2-2 with three runs.

Preston Roberge went 3 and 2/3 allowing two earned runs.  Sean Saiz went 1 and 1/3 scoreless.

Dodge City is 11-12-2 and Liberal is 14-7-1.  Liberal plays a non league game at Hays Monday night at 7pm.
