Wildfire Relief Available for Kansas, Oklahoma Producers

Relief efforts are continuing for farmers and ranchers impacted by February’s wildfires in southwest Kansas and northwest Oklahoma.

The fires burned more than 300,000 acres, causing widespread damage across the region.

The Kansas Livestock Association says the Kansas Livestock Foundation is now accepting applications for disaster relief funding. The deadline to apply is May 8.

As recovery continues, a clearer picture of the damage is emerging—and so are the needs of those affected.

In the immediate aftermath, producers outside the fire zone stepped up, organizing hay donations and other support.

KLA officials say that spirit of cooperation remains strong as relief efforts move forward.
