On June 22, 2026, Haskell County Deputies conducted a vehicle pursuit beginning near the intersection of County Road 220 and Ojibwa Avenue in Satanta. Deputies actively pursued the fleeing vehicle until reaching County Road 1 in Seward County where one of its tires de-treaded. Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, identified as Dean Hawley, exited the vehicle, surrendered himself to law enforcement, and was taken into custody without further incident. The passenger, identified as Atasha Fisher, exited the vehicle, surrendered herself to law enforcement, and was taken into custody as well. After further investigation and collection of evidence, both individuals were transported to the Haskell County Jail where they were booked and processed for the following charges:

• Possession of Marijuana in violation of KSA 21-5706.
• Possession of Methamphetamine in violation of KSA 21-5706.
• Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 ft of School Zone < 3.5 grams in violation of KSA 21-5705.
• Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Ingest in violation of KSA 21-5709.
• Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute in violation of KSA 21-5709.
