Wagner is KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week

KSCB News - April 1, 2015 6:39 am

Following a dominating week in the circle for the Seward County Lady Saints, sophomore right hander Jaclyn Wagner has been named the Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Week in a release by the league on Tuesday.

Wagner was on point for the Lady Saints this week, winning all three starts she made while allowing opponents to hit just .109. Tuesday against Colby she started things off with a complete game victory against Colby, cruising into the 7th inning with a no-hit bid before eventually allowing two in the final inning. She walked just 1 and struck out 6 in the win. Thursday against Pratt she was on again, allowing just 2 hits in a complete game victory over the Beavers. She finished the week off the way she started it, throwing another complete game and once again working into the final inning with a chance at a no-hitter before settling for a shutout. On the week she struck out 17 and walked just 2.

Wagner and the Lady Saints will take the field again on Wednesday at home as they host Dodge City in a 3:00 doubleheader.
