USD 480 Board of Education Meets

The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening at the Education Service Center for their regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda the Board approved the waiver of building fees for the Liberal Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet scheduled for February 25, 2012, accepted a donation from Abbott Construction in the amount of $2,468.00 for labor on the sidewalks at West Middle School and approved staff travel. Also the Board approved the purchase of 18 computers from Two Trees in the amount of $17,352.00, and approved the hiring of two additional computer technicians for the IT staff. The Board of Education accepted the quote from Bowman Painting and Drywall in the amount of $14,700.00 for work to be done at West Middle School, and approved the addition to the health insurance pool in the negotiated agreement in the amount of $87,000.00 and to cover the last $150,000.00 of claims(if needed) of the maximum cost in the self funded plan for the fiscal 2011-12.
