Too Much Trinity for the Redskins

Liberal’s boys basketball team trailed throughout on the way to a 67-53 loss to the Wichita Trinity Knights Thursday night in the Big House.  The class 3A team from the Central Plains League is 2-0 while LHS is 1-1.

The Knights jumped on the Redskins for leads of 9-1, 14-4 and it was 21-9 after one quarter.  The Knights led by as many as 14 three times in the second quarter at 23-9, 27-13, and 29-15.  It was 34-21 Trinity at the half.  The Skins trailed 48-36 after three.  Liberal cut the lead to eight at 55-47 but drew now closer Thursday night.

Izzy Rotolo led the Redskins with 12 points.  Isaiah Jenkins had 10 in the loss while Carson Gilmore had seven.

The 1-1 Redskins host Olathe North Friday night at about 7:45 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.
