KJCCC West Player of the Week: Elijah Bear – Seward County Community College
Seward County baseball is on an 8-game win streak, and this is in large part due to the play of Elijah Bear. Over the past week the Saints played 5 games where Elijah was able to hit a homerun in all but one of the matchups. On the road at Lamar Elijah was able to go 3-4 with 3 runs scored, 1 HR and had 5 RBIs. KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week: Ashton Jenkins – Dodge City Community College
Dodge City baseball earned the series win over Colby taking three of four games and game one featured a lot of offense between the two teams but the pitching of Ashton Jenkins helped the Conquistadors secure the win. Jenkins entered game one in relief and tossed the final four innings of the game and did not surrender a run giving up just one hit. He faced only 13 batters and retired the final 12 he faced to earn the win. On the season Jenkins is 2-3 in eight relief appearances tossing 10.1 innings with 12 strikeouts.
