Seward’s Curless Signs at Alabama A&M

Brock Kappelmann - July 19, 2023 5:06 pm

Jay Daubenberger
Seward County outfielder Tristan Curless is heading to the Southeast after signing his National Letter of Intent with the Alabama A&M Bulldogs on Wednesday to continue his baseball career at the Division 1 level in the SWAC.

He stepped up during his sophomore season, helping the Saints to a 33-26 overall record with a 20-12 record in KJCCC action while hitting .433 with 11 doubles and 10 home runs on the season. He scored 45 runs throughout the season while driving in 54 RBIs and stealing 10 bases. He started 12 games on the mound during the 2023 season, recording three wins for the Saints with a 7.93 ERA and striking out 48 batters with eight of those strikeouts coming in a four inning stretch against Colby.

Curless heads to Alabama A&M for a Bulldog program that is coming off a 2023 season where the Bulldogs went 14-34 overall with a 5-24 record in SWAC action. Alabama A&M is heading in the right direction, recording their best record since their 2019 season. Curless will look to help the Bulldogs get on track and take another step forward during the 2024 season.

Curless is now the eighth Saints baseball player to sign to the four-year level, joining Ranse Radtke (Abilene Christian), Jarron Wilcox (UCCS), Adian Moore (Lubbock Christian University), Jaxson Gregg (Henderson State), Connor Cox (University of Central Oklahoma), Elijah Bear (Florida Memorial), and Bo Jacob Garza (Ottawa University).
