The Seward County softball team and Pratt softball teams both dominated wins in a split Friday afternoon in Pratt. Seward won the first game 9-0 before the Beavers bounced back to take game two 10-2.
In game one, SCCC out-hit PCC 13-4. The Saints scored three in the first, two in the third, and four in the fourth on the way to a run rule win. Aaliyah Arredondo worked four shutout innings. Kaitlyn Gonzales pitched a scoreless inning. Jewell Carleton and Malaya Garcia hit home runs. Taylor Harding, Kate Perez, Jewell Carleton, Malaya Garcia, and Amithys Perez had two hits a piece.
Pratt took game two 10-2. Seward out-hit the Beavers 9-8 and SCCC committed six errors. Pratt scored one in the first, three in the third, and one in the fourth. The Saints scored in the fifth and sixth to make it 5-2. But Pratt scored five in the bottom of the sixth. Ella Doxey and Taryn Golden had two hits a piece. Doxey hit two doubles.
Pratt is 6-26 overall and 3-13 in the Jayhawk. Seward is 15-23 overall and 5-13 in the KJCCC. Seward hosts Hutchinson Wednesday at 1pm at French Family Field.
