One week after splitting a road double header at Butler, the Seward softball team split a pair at Barton Saturday. Barton dominated the first game 17-0 but SCCC took game two 7-6.
In game one, Barton plated six in the first, seven in the second, and four in the third. Barton out-hit the Saints 11-1.
In game two, Seward scored one in the first and three in the second for the 4-0 lead. Barton plated two in the fourth to make it 4-2. The Saints scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh to lead 7-2. Barton rallied with four in the seventh but Seward held on for the win. Seward out-hit Barton 12-9. Jahlisa Klear was 3-3 with a double. Ella Doxey was 2-4 with a double. Taylor Harding and Kate Perez had two hits a piece. Harding scored three runs and Perez scored two. Amithys Perez hit a home run and drove home three. Grace Horne pitched the distance for the win.
Barton is 23-21 and 15-11 in the Jayhawk. Seward is 15-27 overall and 7-17 in the Jayhawk. Seward hosts Colby Wednesday at 1pm.
