The Seward softball team swept the Fort Hays Tech Tigers 11-1 and 14-3 on a cool and damp day Wednesday at French Family Field.
In game one, SCCC out-hit Tech 15-1 with seven doubles. Seward scored one in the first, three in the second, five in the third, and two in the fourth for the run rule. Aaliyah Arredondo allowed just one hit and struck out five in five innings in the circle. Taylor Harding was 3-4 with three RBI’s and three runs. Kate Perez, Amithys Perez, Malaya Garcia, and Jewell Carleton had two hits a piece.
In game two, Seward scored four in the first, five in the second, one in the third, and four in the fourth. Seward out-hit Tech 9-5. Taylor Harding was 3-3 with three runs, two RBI’s, and four stolen bases. Jewell Carleton was 2-3 with two RBI’s and two runs. Grace Horne pitched three shutout innings with three strikeouts and no walks.
Fort Hays Tech is 1-31 overall and 0-16 in the Jayhawk. Seward is 12-22 overall and 4-12 in the Jayhawk. Seward plays at Pratt Friday at noon.
