Seward County Commission Make Board Appointments

The Seward County Board of County Commission met on Monday evening and appointed Lora Hershey, to the Kansas Area Agency on Aging while Joy Blasi, and Laurence Harness  were appointed to the Seward County Council on Aging Board. Hershey will be filling an unexpired term on the Board.

The Commission accepted the bid from Liberal Truck Center and Southwest Equipment for a total of $573,600.00 to come out of Waste Haul account 269-000-5486 Mobil Equipment with special checks for payment to purchase 2 new side load trash trucks for the Landfill.

The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding which establishes guidelines for the Multi-Jurisdiction Drug Enforcement Task Force consisting of representatives from Haskell County Sheriff’s Office, Liberal Police Department, and Seward County Sheriff’s Office and authorized the Chairman to sign the “Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force” Memorandum of Understanding.

Also approved was a  Memorandum of Understanding for the Seward County 4-H Livestock Barn facilities between Seward County Commission and Seward County 4-H, K-State Extension Wild West District.

Thresher Wind Farm Project was also discussed by the Commissioners regarding  Supplemental Records.

After an Executive Session the Commission approved a purchase from Mile High Shooting Accessories and waived the purchasing policy.
