LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College held a signing ceremony for Lucia Popluharova and Kyllian Savary as they will continue their academic and tennis careers at Savannah College of Art and Design. They both will compete in the tennis programs for the Bees in Atlanta, Georgia.

Popluharova has been a part of the women’s tennis program for the past three years and was a part of the 5th place finish at the NJCAA Nationals. She competed in the No. 2 singles draw last year in the National tournament and made it to the quarterfinals. Popluharova and Maria Garcia competed in the No. 2 doubles draw and made it to the semifinals of the tournament.

Popluharova is currently ranked No. 43 in the ITA NJCAA singles rankings, and ranked No. 13 in doubles. At the Southwest JUCO Championships in Plano, Texas Popluharova was the champion of the No. 4 singles draw, and the No. 2 doubles draw.

Savary has been a part of the Seward County community for the past three years as he competed in the tennis program. Savary was a part of the Saints’ third place National run last year as the No. 2 Singles draw, and the No. 2 doubles draw. He was the national runner-up in the No. 2 doubles and made it to the round of 16 in the No. 2 singles draw.

Savary was the champion of the No. 3 singles draw at the Southwest JUCO Championship this spring and was runner-up in the No. 2 doubles draw. He is currently ranked No. 11 in the ITA NJCAA national singles rankings, and No. 6 in doubles.

They both will be attending SCAD next fall to continue their academic and tennis careers.
