Saints Rally from 21 Down to Shock GCCC

The Seward County Saints rallied from 21 points down to shock the Garden City Broncbusters 92-90 Wednesday night at Conestoga Energy Arena.  Antonio Williams Jr. poured in 33 points and Lucas N’Gombo added 25.  Seward snaps a nine game losing streak against GCCC and beats the Busters for the first time since 2021.

Garden City jumped to leads of 7-0 and 22-14.  The Broncbusters took leads of 32-23, 40-23, and led 50-33 at the half. The Busters built a 21 point lead of 54-33.  The Saints rallied all the way back to take their first lead of 66-65 with 8:50 to play.  The Saints built a lead by as much as nine at 87-78.

Seward shot 44 percent from the field while making 7-17 from three and 31-37 from the foul line.  Garden City shot 45 percent while going 9-25 from three and 19-30 from three.  The Saints won despite 28 turnovers.

Garden City falls to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the Jayhawk.  Seward is tied for third at 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the KJCCC.  Seward hosts Butler Saturday at 4pm on 1270 and 92.3.  The Pancake House is the buyout sponsor.
