Saints Overcome Adversity in Garden City

KSCB News - January 27, 2011 7:01 am

Seward probably won’t play in a tougher environment all season. With Garden City fans making obscene chants at Seward players, rude comments to the SCCC Spirit Squad, and Garden City’s scoreboard operator even adding two point s incorrectly to the score, it was an adverse situation for first place #20 Seward. But probably par for the course when the two rivals meet. They eventually got the score correct and the final read 72-65 in Seward’s favor. Marky Nolen scored 13 points and grabbed 18 rebounds with 14 on the defensive end. Jeremy Jones added 21 points. Daveon Boardingham scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Seward is 18-3 overall and 6-1 in the Jayhawk West. Garden City is 14-7 overall and 3-4 in the conference. Seward hosts Butler Saturday at 8 p.m. on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
