Saints Hope to Open Baseball Season this Weekend

The Seward County Saints Baseball season openening double header against defending National Champions Iowa Western has been pushed back again, this time from Friday to Monday at Brent Gould Field due to snow and high wind conditions in Liberal. Originally slated to play one 9 inning game on Thursday at 2:00 and one 9 inning game on Friday at 1:00 against the Reivers, the two teams will now play a pair of games starting at either 11:00 or 12:00 on Monday. The Saints will now attempt to open their season Saturday when the Northeastern Plainsmen are scheduled to come to Liberal and play a double header starting at 1:00. (Roy Allen)
