The #25 Midland Chaparrals rallied in both games to sweep the visiting Seward County Saints Saturday afternoon in Midland. The Chaps won game one 6-4 and took game two 17-4.
In game one, the Saints scored three in the fifth to lead 4-3. But Midland countered with three in the bottom of the fifth to lead 6-4. David Brabb and Grant Cox had two hits a piece. Cosme Vera pitched four innings allowing two earned runs.
In game two, SCCC led 4-1 going to the bottom of the third. The Chaps scored two to make it 4-3. Midland blew the game open with an eight run fourth to make the score 11-4. Midland scored six more in the sixth for the run rule.
Midland is 11-0. Seward falls to 2-8. The Saints host Vernon Friday and Saturday at noon at Brent Gould Field.
