Resurfacing to begin along K-51 in Morton County

The Kansas Department of Transportation will start a surface recycle and chip seal project the week of June 1, along K-51 from the K-27 junction east and south to the U.S. 56 junction in Morton County.

Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the 17.48-mile work zone in smaller sections. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-51 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

Dustrol Inc. of Towanda is the contractor on this $2.2 million project. Conditions permitting, work is expected to be completed by the end of July.
