Redskins Open Girls Golf Season at Hays

KSCB News - August 30, 2011 7:10 am

The Liberal girls golf team opened their season at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays Monday and placed eighth out of 10 teams. Garden City won the tournament and produced the winner of the meet in Macinze Thayer who carded a five under 32. Hays was second and Hutchinson was third.

Liberal’s Jamie Brond led the Redskins with a 60 followed by Evan Sumner’s 67, Amanda Beaman’s 76, and Courtney Widener’s 80. Head coach Kody Thexton was pleased overall. "Not a bad start to the year, it is going to be tough to win with Garden City and Hays playing at such a high level."

LHS competes at Hugoton Thursday at 3 p.m.
