Redskins Mercy Rule Wichita Heights

The new KSHSAA mercy rule came into play Wednesday night.  The Liberal Redskins beat the Wichita Heights Falcons 8-0 for the new 8-goal mercy rule.  Suain Moncayo led Liberal with a hat trick.

The Skins scored first at Suain Moncayo found the back of the net at the 11 minute mark.  Johnny Young scored at the 13 minute mark with a Moncayo assist.  Giezi Gonzalez scored less than a minute later with another Suain Moncayo assist.  Suain Moncayo scored with 6:05 to play in the first half on an assist from Josh Garcia.  LHS led 4-0 at halftime.  Aron Duque began the second half scoring with a Giezi Gonzales assist 5:23 into the half.  Suain Moncayo scored his third goal to begin the second half with a Josh Garcia assist 6:02 into the half.  Giovanni Barrera scored with a Jayden Gonzalez assist.  Alan Baeza scored the eighth goal with a Giovani Barrera assist.

The Redskins are 2-0 and play at Great Bend tonight for their WAC opener.
