The Liberal Redskins scored five points in the second half and two in the third quarter on the way to another blowout loss 61-26 against Hays Friday night in Hays. Playing just three days before Christmas, Liberal wraps up the first semester losing their last four games.
The first half was competitive. Hays led 11-8 after one. It was 28-21 Indians at the half. The floodgates opened in the third quarter as the Indians out scored the Redskins 22-2 in the third quarter and 33-5 in the second half. It’s the third straight game played with a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Liberal was 1-10 from three point range in the loss. Brooks Kappelmann scored nine in the loss.
Liberal loses their 13th in a row to Hays. The Indians are 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the WAC. Liberal is 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the WAC. It’s Liberal’s 18th straight WAC loss. The Skins play at home against Woodward January 2 in the Big House at about 7:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
