Red Ravens Rout the Saints

The #15 Coffeyville Red Ravens had their way with the  Seward County Saints Tuesday night in the Green House.  Coffeyville led throughout a 78-62 game in the game before Thanksgiving.  The Ravens made 11-19 three pointers in the win.  Coffeyville has now won six in a row over the Saints.

Coffeyville built healthy first half leads of 27-16, 36-21, and 38-23 before leading 42-25 at the half.  Coffeyville led by as many as 24 (69-45) on the way to the win.

The Red Ravens shot 53 percent from the field while making 11-19 from three point range and 17-22 at the free throw line.  Seward shot 39 percent and made a couple of 3’s in the closing minutes to get to 4-21 from three point range (19%) and 14-27 at the foul line for 52 percent.  The Ravens bullied the Saints on the boards 41-24.  Coffeyville committed 20 turnovers while SCCC had seven.  Seward had 14 steals.  SCCC led points in the paint 36-24 and led fast break points 10-2.  It was the shooting disparity and rebounding which decided this one.

Lyna Brooks Jr. scored 14 points and was Epic Touch Player of the Game.  Lucas N’Gombo had 14.  JJ Chapman had eight points and six rebounds.

Coffeyville is 7-1 and 2-1 in the KJCCC.  Seward falls to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the Jayhawk.  Coffeyville has won 11 of the last 12 against the Saints.  Seward plays at Hutchinson Saturday night at 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.
