Rattlers Split Last Two Games at Goddard

The Liberal Rattlers played three games at the High School Kick Off Classic at Goddard’s Genesis Sports Complex this weekend.  After a 13-3 loss to the ASA A’s Friday morning, the Rattlers responded with a 10-4 win over the Wichita Grays on Saturday.  Their game Saturday night against the Curve was rained out.  They lost  5-4 game in bracket play against BFO Baseball Saturday morning.

In the win on Saturday, Taylan Hill pitched all four innings for the win.  Bentlee Betts hit a triple and scored two runs.  Manny Mendoza had three RBI’s and three runs.  A storm moved in Saturday night and prevented the Rattlers from playing Saturday night.

Sunday morning in bracket play, a team from Oklahoma, BFO baseball edged the Rattlers 5-4.  The Rattlers scored three in the first but allowed four in the bottom of the inning.  Liberal only scored one more run the rest of the day.  Manny Mendoza was 2-3 with three RBI’s.  Hayden Pendergraft pitched five strong innings and did not allow an earned run.

The Rattlers play with the Liberal Bee Jays on “Rattler Night” at Brent Gould Field Wednesday night at 7pm.
