Orrantia Leads Wrestlers at Colby

The Liberal boys wrestling team went to Colby while the girls competed at Great Bend this weekend. The Redskins boys took 14th place at Colby. Julian Orrantia was perfect in the tournament and on the season as he improves to 10-0. Orrantia won the tournament’s most pins award. Aidan Schwindt was 6-1.
LHS girls wrestling travels to Great Bend this past weekend for one of their biggest tournaments of the season. 37 schools participated and the girls wrestling team finished in 10th place. Below are individual results:
Kiersie Carlile took 5th place at 100 lbs division
Isabela Gutierrez took 3rd place at 105 lbs division
Hayleen Martinez – 190 lbs division Champion
Jasmine Rangel was taken as the non scorer athlete and took 2nd place in the 190 lbs division wrestling against our own Hayleen Martinez
Alexa Macias took 6th place at 235 lbs division
Aileen Figueroa was also taken as the non scorer athlete and took 5th place in the 235 lbs division wrestling against our own Alexa Macias.
The Liberal boys dual at Ulysses on Thursday. The Redskin boys and girls compete at Hoisington this weekend.
