Zula Lee Mathes

Zula Lee Matthes 86, died Monday May 30, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.

She was born April 6, 1925 at Sapulpa, OK the daughter of Benjamin and Alice (Perkins) Kemp.

She has been a resident of Liberal since 1949 moving from Coffeeville, KS. She graduated in 1942 from Sapulpa High School in Sapulpa, OK.

She has work for many years as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for Tradewinds Industries.

On March 26, 1945 she married John W. Matthes at Sapulpa, OK. He died Oct 29, 1989.

Survivors include.

Victoria Doyle Woodstock, Ill

2 Great Grandchild Miles Doyle & Lily Doyle

Preceded in death by her parents, 1 son James Matthes.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John Ross presiding.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation time will be 1 to 8 pm Thursday at Brenneman Funeral Home .

In lieu of flowers and plants memorial contributions may be sent to St. Catherine’s Hospice in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
