Wylie Joe Batterton, age 36, of Johnson, Kansas died Monday, June 17, 2017, at his parents’ home in Johnson, Kansas. He was born June 26, 1982, in Johnson, Kansas, the son of Eddie Joe and Cindy Louise (Whittington) Batterton.

Wylie was a lifelong resident of Stanton County and worked the parts counter at the family business, Batterton Automotive. He married Lesley LaDon Daniels on September 9, 2006, in Johnson. Wylie coached T-ball, Little League, and Junior Babe Ruth Baseball, and basketball for Stanton County Recreation for a number of years. Wylie enjoyed all sports, fishing, cars, taking his kids swimming, and time spent with family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Johnson.

He is survived by his life love, Lesley Batterton; children, Blaze Taylor Batterton, Belle Marie Batterton, Birdie Emma Batterton, and Bristol Maysun Batterton all of Johnson; parents, Eddie and Cindy Batterton of Johnson; sister, Darci Diane Batterton of Johnson; and grandmother, Jackie Batterton of Johnson. 

Wylie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Batterton, and Enid and Marge Whittington; great-grandparents, Forrest L. and Emma Walker “Momo”, Meda and Auburn Whittington, and Marie Scrivner, great-uncle, Russ Batterton; and “brother”, Brandt Daniels.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas, with Reverend Richard Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
