William “Willy” Meza

William “Willy” Meza, age 52, died June 14, 2026, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born on September 14, 1973, in Ulysses, Kansas to Manuel and Irma (Guerra) Meza.

Willy attended school in Ulysses. Later, he moved to Topeka, where he worked in masonry, returning to Ulysses in 2006. Willy worked in construction for many years, most recently with 5-G Irrigation. He was known for his hardworking nature, and his ability to fix just about anything. Willy was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone in need. He enjoyed good food and never missed a chance to appreciate a great meal. Willy had a strong faith that remained an important part of his life for many years. He was a kind, caring soul with a generous heart. Above all, Willy deeply loved his children, as well as his nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy and pride.

Willy is survived by his children, Tesla Madsen of Wichita, Kansas, Kaden Moody of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Colton Moody of Edmond, Oklahoma, Carter Moody of Ulysses, Kansas, Skyler Cramer of Topeka, Kansas, Christian Aldrich of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Irma Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; sisters, Cynthia Meza, Norma Meza, Rebecca Bryner and Betty Delgado (Martin) all of Ulysses, Kansas; brother, Manuel (Tara) Scott of Forney, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Willy is preceded in death by his Dad, Manuel; sister, Martha Ann Meza; and aunt, Soila Guaderrama.

A memorial service will be held June 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Gospel Light Baptist Church, Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Jose Linares officiating with burial to follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Gospel Light Baptist Church or Six Feet Over in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
