William (Bill) C. Stubblefield

William (Bill) C. Stubblefield, age 72, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 13, 2020, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler, Kansas.

He was born February 22, 1948, at Laramie, Wyoming, the son of Carson Edison and Gertrude Rose (Higley) Stubblefield.  As a young boy the family lived in several areas before moving to Fowler where he graduated from Fowler High School in 1966.  After his graduation, he began his career as a mechanic and working for several area oil producers.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

On August 1, 1970, he married Beverly J. Clay at the First Baptist Church in Meade, Kansas.  She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Mitchell Shane Stubblefield and wife Michele of Fowler; a daughter Tina Marie Hiatt and husband Adam of Springfield, Oregon; a sister Rose Mary Horn of Logan, Kansas; and five grandchildren, Derek, Jacob, Cierra, Caitlyn, and Payton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lee Allen Stubblefield; two sisters, Cynthia Ryan and Helen Genevea Stubblefield; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020, at the Fowler Friends Church, Fowler.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.

The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
