William B. (Bill) Johnston

William B. (Bill) Johnston, age 82, passed away late Saturday evening, July 17, 2021, at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola, Kansas.

He was born November 21, 1938, at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Robert and Ann Johnston.  As a young boy he attended school in Meade, graduating from Meade High School in 1956.  He later attended Fort Hays State University, graduating in 1960.  Later he received graduate classes from Pittsburg State University.  After his education, he began his career as an English teacher, teaching in Holcomb, Kansas, for many years.  He cared deeply about his students and his love of literature, reading and books.

Cremation has taken place.  Private services will be held at a later date in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
