West Thomas, age 81, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on October 10, 1939 the son of West Thomas Sr. and Ruth Mae Pickett. He was the only child to this union.
West attended school in Mangum, Oklahoma where he completed the 8th grade.

West enjoyed camping, fishing and softball which included all other outdoor activities.
West and his family united with The Church of Living God, the Pillar and Ground of Truth under the leadership of Rev. Kelley.
In 1976, West and his family moved to Liberal, Kansas. At that time, he united with SDSI, where he worked for many years. Then the company changed over to Summit, where he was employed for several years. Later West was employed by the Holiday Inn in Liberal for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Paula Dean and her husband, Larry Evans of Mansfield, Texas, sister-in-law, Carol Taylor and a heavenly host of nieces, Tavian and her husband Glen Harris, Tammi and her husband Fred Witherspoon, Casandra Evens, Joyce Morris and her husband, Terri Allen, Dixie Taylor and Mia Taylor. His nephews, Steven Evans, Robert Earl Evans of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larry Jr. and his wife, Tamikka Evans, Michael Taylor and William Henderick. A host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and his long-time friend Liz and a host of friends had at Summit. A life well lived.

He was preceded in death by his parents, West Thomas Sr., Ruthie Mae Pickett Taylor, stepfather, Edward Taylor, two brothers Samuel and Wilma Taylor, his sister, Ruthie Bell Taylor.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901 and from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery on 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Graveside to follow.
