Wesley Dean Roehr, age 93, of Hugoton, Kansas, died Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his home in Hugoton. He was born January 6, 1931, in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Paul W. and Estella Marie (Hagaman) Roehr.  

Dean was raised in Hugoton and moved to Cañon City, Colorado, during his junior year of high school. He married Betty Jean” Tillie” Tilson on September 18, 1949, in Cañon City, Colorado, at the First Methoidst Church. They returned to Stevens County, Kansas, and began farming and selling Moorman Feed. When he wasn’t farming, Dean enjoyed fishing and hunting, jeepin in the mountains, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He was a USD 210 board member, an active member of the First United Methodist Church, and received the Stevens County Soil Conservation Award. Dean will be remembered for his constant whistling.

Dean is survived by his wife, Tillie; daughters, Kerry Frederick and husband, Jim, of Hugoton, Kathy Hamlin and husband, Dennis, of Surprise, Arizona, and Dana Priddy, and husband, Lance, of Arcadia, Oklahoma; brothers, Paul Roehr of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Robert Roehr of Cotopaxi, Colorado; five grandchildren, Ryan Hamlin, Candee Archuleta, Jamee Mason, Tanner Priddy, and Taran Priddy; 11 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marlene Norris.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton, Kansas, with Pastor Wesley Young and Pastor Pam Peachey officiating. Interment will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pheasant Heaven Charities in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 920 E. 11th St. Hugoton, KS 67951.
