Virginia “Jody” Hampsten

Virginia “Jody” Hampsten, 61, of Bethany, OK passed away March 14, 2016 at her home in Bethany, Ok.

Virginia Joanne Hampsten, fondly known as Jody and Aunt Ginnie, was born June 23, 1954 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Lester Harvey and Loretta Mae Richburg Hampsten. She grew up in Dallas where she attended and graduated from Sunset High School with the Class of 1972. She then attended Dallas County Community College. She later moved to Hooker, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her brother Jim and his wife, Cindy of Amarillo, Tx, nieces, Ellen Hampsten of Amarillo, Tx, Katie Hampsten and her husband, Steven Rodriguez of San Antonio, Tx.

Jodi took much interest in the family history, collecting pictures and stories from many generations. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed serving as an election official for many years. She had many friends and will be missed.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Church of Christ Fellowship Building with Lance Morrisett officiating. Arrangements are directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
