Traci Dee Bitner

Traci Dee Bitner, 57, passed away April 18, 2019, at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, KS.

Traci was born May 27, 1961, to Clifford and Christine (Jones) Rankin in Elkhart, KS.

She and Larry Bitner married on April 6, 1990, at the United Methodist Church in Elkhart, KS. To this union are two children, Noah Bitner, and M’Lynn Swartz.

Traci was a woman of many talents; she loved to write, sewing, crafts, and loved flowers. In 2018, she published her first book Sunflower State of Mind and she was actively drafting her second. She shared her creative talents with the Elkhart and Morton County communities, having participated in the Morton County Theatre Group and most recently, the Morton County Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Bitner of the home; two children, Noah Bitner, Elkhart, KS, and M’Lynn Swartz, Garden City, KS; mother, Christine Rankin, Elkhart, KS; brother, Troy Rankin and wife Melinda, Elkhart, KS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Rankin.

A memorial has been established for Morton County Historical Society Museum, Elkhart, KS. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS, 67951.

There will be viewing at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Another viewing will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the First Church of God, Elkhart, KS.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 25, 2019, at First Church of God, Elkhart, KS at 10 AM with Pastor Gary Talbert presiding. Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, KS.
