Thomas Franklin Burrows, 79, of Liberal , passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born on August 7, 1937 to Emmett and. Daisy Ovella (Connard) Burrows at Snyder OK. On January 14, 1972 he married Delsa Faye (Rucker) at Olton, Texas.

He worked as a farmer, mechanic, cook, and was owner/operator of the drive-in theatre in Olton, Texas. Thomas was also involved with the Amarillo Police Department for 8 years, and also drove a charter bus. He then began driving for Yellow Freight Systems in 1969 and retired after 25 years. Later in life he was a volunteer fireman and owned and operated Liberal Radiator Service and Towing, and retired in November of 2013.

He was a member of the Believer’s Ministry Church of Liberal, Masonic Lodge #300, Scottish/York Rite of the Wichita Consistory, as well as a Shriner of Liberal.

Thomas is survived by his wife Delsa of Liberal, One Daughter, Darla Schauf of Liberal, KS; Four Sons, Victor Burrows and wife Suzie of Liberal, KS, Vince Burrows and wife Terri of Turpin, OK, Vernon “Bud” Burrows and wife Nancy of Borger, TX, Thomas Burrows, Jr. and wife Stacy of Albuquerque, NM; Two Sisters, Evangeline Coleman of Irving, TX, and Pat Roland of Nacona, TX; 14 Grandchildren and 20 Great grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, one brother Bill Burrows, and one sister Bertha Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 8:00pm Friday at Miller Mortuary Liberal, KS. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Liberal with, Pastor Tom Patterson officiating.

Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery, Liberal. Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge #300 of Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Lodge or Believer’s Ministry Church, both of Liberal.
