Dreama “Susie” Sue Williams, age 72, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Friday, September 6, 2019, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. She was born March 11, 1947, in Lebanon, Indiana, the daughter of Homer Deuell and Geraldine Loretta (Hanna) Slagle.

Susie, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, grew up in Lebanon and graduated in 1965 from Lebanon High School. She married Richard “Dick” Devon Williams on February 27, 1966, in Lebanon. They have lived in Ulysses, for 19 years. Susie drove truck and combine for the custom cutting company that she and Dick owned. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, scrapbooking, and photography. She was an accomplished seamstress, wedding planner, and also made wedding flowers and other floral arrangements.

Susie is survived by her husband, Dick of the home; sons, Shane Williams of Guymon, Oklahoma, and Robert Williams of Erie, Colorado; daughter, Lisa Palmer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, David Slagle of Ft. Myers, Florida; nine grandchildren, Clariessa Ann Thompkins, Seth Ryan Williams, Dakota Lane Taylor, Braden Dwain Palmer, Trevor Michael Williams, Treyton Jacob Williams, Regan Delayne Williams, Heidi Joelle Williams, and Mylee Rae Williams; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Ann Williams, Autumn Ann Williams, and Thea Ann Wiliams; brothers and sisters-in-law; J.J. and Judy Williams of Stratford, Texas, M. Leon and Brenda Williams of Yuma, Arizona, Ronald and Cheri Williams of Satanta, Kansas, Rodney and Georgia Williams of Yuma, Arizona; and nephews and nieces, Justin Slagle, Merlene Dean of Stratford, Texas, Grant Todd Williams of Houston, Texas, Laura Barker of Bedford, Indiana, Michael Williams of Indiana, David Williams of Manhattan, Kansas, Daniel Williams of Fort Hays, Kansas, Nathaniel Williams of Houston, Texas, Kathy Wyer of Ulysses, Kansas, Kenneth Williams of Manhattan, Kansas, and Kimberly Williams of Holcomb, Kansas.

Susie is preceded in death by her father, Homer Slagle; mother and step-father, Geraldine and Lionel Detamore; brother, Jeffrey Brendt Slagle; and nephew, John D. Williams.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Pastor Gerry DuPuis officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Grant County Library Girls Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
