Steve Alexander, age 57, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Friday, September 23, 2022, in Grant County, Kansas. He was born September 28, 1964, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Duane and Linda (Batman) Alexander.

Steve grew up in Grant County, Kansas, and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1983. He was an excellent carpenter and mechanic and never liked idle time. He was always busy doing something. Steve was a truck driver and in over 500,000 miles never had an accident or even a scratch put on his truck. He was a very gentle and kind man with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed the time spent with his grandkids.

Steve is survived by his son, Andrew Alexander of Rochester, Minnesota; daughter, Pam Hampton and husband Craig of Ulysses; mother, Linda Alexander of Ulysses; brother, Mark Alexander of Ulysses; sisters, Julie Schulze and husband Rick of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Tami Rundell of Ulysses, and Cindy Rushing and husband Paul of Garland, Texas; and three grandchildren, Eli, Lucas and Jemma Hampton.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Duane; and baby sister, Sheri Alexander.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Steve Alexander Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
