Sharon Anne Cook, 80, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday June 30, 2026 at her home.

She was born on December 11, 1945 to Donald and Juanita (Boggs) Komarek at Great Bend, KS.

Sharon was a graduate of Liberal HighSchool, class of 1963.

On November 23, 1963 she married Melvin Luther Cook at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Liberal, KS.

Sharon and Melvin operated  “His and Her’s Barber and Beauty Shop” in Plains, KS until 1980. She then worked with Amoco and later with Mobile Oil Co. Sharon became proficient with computers and technology, a skill she continued into retirement. She enjoyed PC Gaming, crocheting, Playing Cards, and working with Stained Glass.

Sharon is survived by her Son, Matt Cook of Liberal, KS; Two Daughters, Stacey Woods and husband Barry of Meade, KS, and Mary Packard and husband Rob of Plains, KS; Sister, Donita Box and husband David of Liberal, KS; 10 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and her beloved little dog, Piper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cook; Father, Donald Leonard Komarek; Mother, Juanita Pearl Komarek; Son, Scott Cook; and Brother, Ronald Douglas Komarek.

Per Sharon’s requests there will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Liberal City Cemetery.
