Ruth Eilene Farmer

Ruth Eilene Farmer, 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade, Kansas.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Mrya (Warden) Johnson, she was born on March 20, 1936, in Bourbon County, Kansas.

Ruth and Donald Miles Farmer were married on December 26, 1972 at First Christian Church, Hugoton. To this union were five children, John, Laura, Glen, Andy and Linda.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ruth was very passionate about her faith in God and she attended Bible Studies. Her hobbies were raising gold and koi fish, water garden, flowers, collecting rocks, traveling, and painting. She made pottery and ceramics.

Ruth went to elementary school at a little country school in Bourbon County, Kansas and then went to Bronson High School and graduated at Bronson, Kansas.

Ruth graduated from Friends University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education of Art and then later on she got her Master’s degree at Fort Hays University of Education of Art.

Ruth was a member of Delta Kappa Gramma and Women’s Aglow.

She survived by her husband, Donald Farmer, Hugoton, KS.; three sons, John Farmer and wife Lora, Hugoton, KS., Earl Glen Farmer and wife Nimfa, Flora City, FL., and, Andy Gene Farmer, Hugoton, KS.; a daughter, Linda Williams, Parson, KS.; two brothers, Thomas Johnson, Bronson, KS., Jack Johnson, Chute, KS.; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Laura Kessler, two grandsons, Lucas and Christian Farmer, sisters, Louise, Virginia, Mary, Shirley, Polly and Nadine.

A memorial has been established for Trinity Baptist Church, in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Book signing will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 2PM to 6 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 10 AM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton. The family will be at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton from 5 PM to 7 PM to receive family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, Hugoton, Kansas with Pastor Terry Miller. Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.
