Roy Edward Krieger, 87, of Amarillo, Texas passed Away May 10, 2021 at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Roy was born on May 29, 1933, in Hooker, Oklahoma, the son of George and Jessie Hamby Krieger.

Roy served in the Korean War from May 13, 1953, to April 6, 1955. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal. United Nations Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge, Roy was in the Reserves for eight years.

Roy was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club for many years. Roy’s hobbies included owning and running racehorses.

He enjoyed traveling and going gambling with his father, sister and brother-in-law, cousin, nephew, and niece. They enjoyed many adventures together.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie Hamby Krieger and George “Speck” Krieger, his younger brother Leo Gene, and his sister Lora Marlene and her husband Bob Cantrell.

Roy is survived by his niece, Karlen Cantrell and nephew, Kevin Cantrell and his family, along with many dear cousins and friends.

Visitation at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 15, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma.
