Rodolfo Alberto Espinoza-Urquidi

Rodolfo Alberto Espinoza-Urquidi, affectionately known as Rudy, departed from this world too soon on February 9, 2026, in Hugoton, Kansas. Born on May 3, 2005, in Liberal, Kansas, Rudy’s life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and friendship that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Hugoton High School, Rudy completed his studies in 2024, leaving behind memories of a caring and compassionate young man, often described as a “very loving good kid.” He dedicated many years to working at McDonald’s before embracing his role at Skyland Grain, both in Hugoton. With a joyful spirit and unwavering dedication, he brightened the lives of those around him through his work.

Rudy had a passion for life that shone through in his cherished Ford Mustang, which he loved to drive. He found joy in playing video games on his PC with his baby sister, nephews, and friends, loved spending time with friends, and immersing himself in music, creating beautiful moments filled with laughter and camaraderie. He loved his momma’s food, especially her asado with rice, beans, and she better not forget his homemade tortillas and MAYONNAISE!!!!! Rudy also enjoyed going to the gym.

Rudy is survived by his devoted mother, Evelin Urquidi, and her husband, Jose Verdugo, of Hugoton, Kansas; his father, Rodolfo Alberto Espinoza, and his wife, Imelda Espinoza, of Odessa, Texas. He leaves behind three loving sisters: Evelin Ramos and her husband, Ismael, of Leander, Texas; Mayra Flores and her husband, Jose; and Brianna Espinoza, both of Hugoton, Kansas. His beloved nephews and nieces—Isaias, Aaliyah, and Emma Ramos; Miranda, Jayden, Sophia, and Joseph Flores—held him dear, and he is remembered fondly by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends whose lives he enriched.

Rudy was preceded in death by his grandparents and his nephew, Josesito Flores, whose memory lingers in the hearts of those who loved them.

In honor of Rudy’s life, a memorial fund has been established for the Rodolfo Alberto Espinoza Urquidi Memorial Fund, with contributions welcomed at P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas. Checks may be made payable to Robson Funeral Home.
