Robert Lee “Bob” Booth

Joe Denoyer - October 17, 2023 10:30 am

Robert Lee “Bob” Booth, 92, of Tyrone passed away October 16, 2023, at his home.

Bob was born March 13, 1931, in Tyrone, Oklahoma, the son of Wayne and Ella Grice Booth. He attended school in Tyrone graduating from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1949.

Bob was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Henriella Lasswell. He was a Christian and loved his Lord. He was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years and worked in the church in many ways.

He tried to instill in his children and grandchildren the love of the Lord, he wanted them to always put the God first and trust in Him as they went to college.

He worked for 34 years at Beech Aircraft, working his way up to became Executive Manager and moved to Wichita where he managed Beech Jet. When he retired, they offered him a promotion to Vice President to stay but he told the president he had two choices, to stay and make more money and when he died, he could give his children money, or he could go home to Tyrone and get to know his grandchildren and leave them memories. No one could argue with that. But if he wanted to come back anytime, he could. They later asked him to be a consultant to Switzerland, but he retired.

Bob went to all the plays, band concerts the grandchildren were in and to all the football games both home and away. He was always happy with his decision.

He was happy that he lived to see his grandchildren and some great grandchildren come to the Lord.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, metal detecting and interesting artifacts. He was a big collector and loved showing them to friends. He was an OU football fan. He loved all sports whenever he could watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren play.

Bob was a 32-degree Mason and a member of the Cimarron County Historical Association.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend to all. He liked to sing “Going Home” and will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Cynthia Ella along with eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Henriella Booth of the home; daughter, Vickie Booth of Wichita, Kansas and three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Tyrone Cemetery and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Tyrone Baptist Church with Bob Hayes officiating. Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
