Reverend Mark A. Mozeik, age 73, passed away early Saturday evening, November 22, 2025, at his Meade, Kansas, residence.
He was born October 9, 1952, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Carl Albert and Marie (Sloss) Mozeik. As a young boy he attended the Swisshelm Elementary School in Pittsburgh, graduating from Taylor Alderdire High School in Pittsburgh. He later attended Concordia University in Wisconsin, receiving his degree in divine studies.
On February 5, 1977, he married Barbara Grguras at Pittsburgh. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Pittsburgh for over fifty years. He later attended Concordia Theological Seminar in Fort Wayne, Indiana, graduating in 2011. After his graduation, he served his vicarage and was called to serve at St. John Lutheran Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. In 2013, he was then called to serve in Newkirk, Oklahoma where they made their home for ten years. In 2023, they moved to Meade, Kansas, where he began ministering to the congregation of St. John Lutheran Church as their pastor.
He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Ministerial Alliance, both of Meade. He enjoys coin collecting, working in his garden, playing racquetball, taking trips to Branson and Louisiana, being the puppeteer for vacation bible school, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Meade; a daughter, Andrea Holub and husband David of Newkirk, Oklahoma; a granddaughter Rose Holub of Newkirk, Oklahoma; a brother, Kenneth (Ken) Mozeik and wife Cheryl of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diana Lydon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade. Interment will follow at the Atwater Cemetery, rural Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday with the family present from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
The family would welcome memorials to St. John Lutheran Church or Common Spirit Hospice in care of the funeral home.
