Quentin Lindahl Griffith, age 69, of Elkhart, Kansas, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. He was born September 26, 1954, in Elkhart, the son of C. Lyndon and Irene Gladys (Lindahl) Griffith.

Quentin grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School in 1973. While in high school, he belonged to the Spanish Club and made long lasting high school friendships. He then attended various colleges including Kansas University and Kansas State University. He worked as a security guard and also for Colorado Interstate Gas at one of the compressor stations. A highly intelligent individual, he invented and owned a patent for a Impact Sensing Vest. When wearing the vest, if you were shot it sent a signal to your command center. Quentin married Margaret “Maggie” Ann Dean on June 15, 1990, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where they made their home. He loved her dearly, and they were married 32 years until her death in 2023. Quentin will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor.

Quentin is survived by his sister, Catherine Ann Griffith of Vancouver, Washington; niece, Cara Bailey and husband, Adam, and family; and nephew, Tim O’Neill and wife, Jill, and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann “Maggie” Griffith; parents, C. Lyndon and Irene Griffith; and brother, Clarence L. Griffith.

A private family graveside service will be in Amber, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
