Myrtle M. Eisenhauer

Myrtle M. Eisenhauer, age 88, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Emeritus at Liberal Springs Assisted Living in Liberal, KS.

She was born November 12, 1925 at Emporia, KS, the daughter of Edwin and Ruth (Emrick) Moran. She was a graduate of Emporia High School.

On November 4, 1944, she married Laurence Joseph “Ike” Eisenhauer at Emporia, KS. He died on December 15, 2003.

She had worked several years as sales clerk at Anna Trahern Dress Shop in Liberal. She had lived in Plains, KS from 1962-74 during which time she worked as a waitress at Mustang Cafe and in the cafeteria at Plains Grade School.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a past member of the Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary having volunteered for 10,400 hours. She and her husband square danced for 48 years and were members of the Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club and had wintered in Meza, AZ in a square dance retirement village. Myrtle was an avid Saints and Lady Saints basketball fan.

Survivors include:

3 Sons – Larry Eisenhauer and wife Cindy of Ankeny, IA;

Stephen Eisenhauer and wife Jane of Liberal, KS;

Daniel Eisenhauer and wife Dona of Brighton, CO;

1 Daughter – Susan Zielke and husband Mike of Liberal, KS;

1 Brother- Delbert Moran of Emporia, KS;

7 Grandchildren: Susann Eisenhauer, Nathan Eisenhauer, Joshua Zielke, Sarah (Zielke) Johnson, Justin Eisenhauer, Jessica (Eisenhauer) Griffith and Jena (Eisenhauer) Auslam.

8 Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Eisenhauer, Alex Zielke, Eli Zielke, Madison Eisenhauer, Morgan Eisenhauer, Emerson Griffith, Marlow Griffith and Julianna Auslam.

She was preceded in death her parents and one Brother, Edwin Moran.

Rosary and Vigil will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, July 25th at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26th at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Dieker presiding. Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions suggested to St. Anthony Catholic Church or SWMC Auxiliary in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
