Modesto Cruz, 61, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton, Kansas.
He was born to Sixtos and Juana (Guerrero) Cruz on Feburary 10, 1958, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Modesto married Josefina Corona in Guanajuato, Mexico. To this union were four children; Sixtos, David, Luis, and Anna.
He loved his wife and family dearly, they were his greatest joy. Modesto was a very hard worker and enjoyed his work. He liked to watch baseball on television and other sports too.
Modesto is survived by his wife, Josefina Cruz, Hugoton, KS.; three sons, Sixtos Cruz, David Cruz and wife Olivia, Luis Cruz and wife Carmen, all of Hugoton, KS.; daughter, Anna Cruz and husband Jose Ceorino, Hugoton, KS.; brother, Guillermo Cruz, TX.; sister, Olga Cortez and husband Serafina, Rolla, KS.; seventeen grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sixtos and Juana and a brother.
Visitation services will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019, 2 PM to 8 PM and Thursday, October 24, 2019, 10 AM to 4 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Rosary service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019, 7 PM, St. Helen Catholic Church, Hugoton, KS.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 25, 2019, 10:30 AM, St. Helen Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS.
Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is in charge of arrangements.
