Milton “Milt /Mr. Real Estate” Seigrist

Milton O. “Milt / Mr. Real Estate” Seigrist, 85, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born March 19, 1931 to Curtle Orville and Eleanor Wroena (Vaughn) Seigrist in Vian, Okla.

He married Lucy Viola Kreizenbeck Dec. 1950 in Clinton, Okla. Lucy now resides in Paola.

He married Connie (Ditch) Wentworth on May 21, 1986, in Liberal. She survives.

He was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Okla., and then attended Oklahoma University.

He joined the Army and served during the Korean War.

He worked as a realtor since 1973 and was currently an Associate Broker and Certified Appraiser at Landmark Real Estate Center in Liberal. He was a member and past President of the Southwest Kansas Board of Realtors.

He was a member and past President of the Southwest Kansas Board of Realtors.  Milt was a member, served on several committees, and was a Past State President of Kansas Assoc. of Realtors (KAR).  He was named Kansas Realtor of the year in 2006, the highest award given by the KAR.

He also served his church and community in many ways. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

He was also dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He acted as Scoutmaster, District Commissioner and Chairman, Council Chairman, Vice- President of Santa Fe Trail Council. Notable accomplishments include Order of the Arrow, Vigil Member, St. George Award (Catholic), District award of Merit, Wood Badge and the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award given at local Council.

He was also a member of the Liberal Chamber of Commerce and was awarded Man of Distinction in 2014. He was also a member and past President of Liberal Noon Lions Club, and a former member of Liberal Rotary Club. He was a 1990 graduate of Leadership Liberal.

He was a diehard OU fan, loved his dog Snickers and enjoyed time with his wife as well as longtime friendships made with their Friday night date group.

Survivors also include sons, Mark Allen Seigrist, Pleasant Prairie, Wisc. and Paul David Seigrist and wife, Suzannah, Austin, Texas; three daughters: Patricia Ann Spone and husband, Levi, Lawrence, Donna Lynn Ringeisen and husband, Rodney, Bartlesville, Okla., and Lisa Marie Hill, Emporia; stepsons, Dereck Wentworth and wife, Lu, Bolingbrook, Ill., and Darin Wentworth and wife, Cathy, Moultrie, Ga.; brother, Charles Douglas Seigrist and wife, Carol, Kennesaw, Ga.; sister-in-law, Chiquita (Jenkins) Seigrist, Hollis, Okla.; 11 grandchildren: Kelli Coleman, Corie Spone, Jennifer Mickelson and husband, Matt, Courtni Ringeisen, Joshua Hill and wife, Dorothy, Zachary Hill, Taylor Seigrist and wife, Taylor Paige, Whitney Ramirez and husband, Alberto, Jordan Seigrist, Drew Seigrist and Richard Seigrist; eight great-grandchildren: Cooper Coleman, Jaxon Coleman, Katie Hill, Tucker Hill, Pheonix Ramirez and Santana Ramirez, Averie Seigrist and Indie Seigrist; six step-grandchildren: Alexa Wentworth Varnes and husband, Nathan, Dylan Globerman, Heather Globerman, Garrett Wentworth, Dominique Wentworth and Donatella Wentworth; and step-great-grandchildren, Kinley Varnes and Stetson Varnes.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Katherine Mary Seigrist Larsen; brother, Earl Woodrow Seigrist; sisters, Eleanor Louise (Seigrist) Radke and Lydia Polly (Seigrist) Black-Lacy; granddaughter, Tobie Lynn Ringesien; son-in-law, Martin Rhea Hill; and brother-in-law, Adolph Julius Radke.

• Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Brenneman Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America (Liberal) or charity of donor’s choice and sent in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
