Melvin Hardy Webb

Melvin Hardy Webb, 94, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton, KS.

He was born to Byrd Hardy and Louise (Ritter) Webb on July 6, 1925, Stevens County, KS on the family farm.

Melvin and Anna Marie Dyck were married June 3, 1949, Buhler, KS. To this union were two sons, Mark and Tim. Anna Marie preceded him in death April 11, 2014.

Melvin was a very active member in his community and within his church. He was member of American Legion, Farm Bureau Association, Moscow United Methodist Church, and Pioneer Electric Board. He was on USD 209’s Board of Education for many years while his boys were in school. He was a Stevens County Commissioner and Mayor of Moscow. He was a City Councilmen for Moscow. He enjoyed being a farmer and raising any crop that would grow. His first love was cows and raising them.

Survivors include son, Mark Webb and wife Marilyn, Plains, KS.; daughter-in-law, Marla Webb, Sublette, KS.; sister, Kara Beth Gosnell, Bella Vista, AR.; two sister-in-laws, Betty Dyck, Minneapolis, KS., Ferne Webb, CA.; six grandchildren, Justin Webb and wife Melissa, Windsor, CO., Connie Anton and husband Philip, Alva, OK., Eric Webb and wife Stephanie, Bryan, TX., Corey Webb, Pittsburg, KS., Brandon Webb and wife Kelsey, Sublette, KS., Travis Webb and wife Randi, Sublette, KS.; 8 great-grandchildren, Laura, Toby, Isaac, Michael, Anna, Owen, Roman, and Jaxon; many other relatives and friends.

Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Byrd Hardy Webb; mother, Louise Webb-Conner; step-father, Elliott Conner; son, Tim Webb; brother, Don Webb; two sisters, Vivian Kendrick and Neva Murphy.

A memorial has been established for United Methodist Church, Moscow. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2019, 2 PM to 8 PM and Friday, August 2, 2019, 10 AM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2019, 6 PM to 8 PM.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 3, 2019, 9:30 AM at Moscow Cemetery, Moscow, KS. A church service will be at 10:30 AM following the graveside service, United Methodist Church, Moscow, KS with Patty Lahey presiding.

Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton is in charge of arrangements.
