Mark Edward Isaac

Joe Denoyer - April 18, 2024 10:08 am

Mark Edward Isaac, our beloved brother, was born on February 26, 1955, to Edward and Evelyn Smith Isaac in La Junta, Colorado. He passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on April 11, 2024, reaching the age of 69 years. He was the youngest of five children.

His early childhood years were spent on a farm near Manzanola, Colorado. Mark moved with his parents and four siblings to Ulysses, Kansas, when he was six years old. For a few years he attended the Pleasant Valley Country School and Hickok Grade School then completed his education at Ulysses High School.

When Mark was twelve, he realized his need of a savior. Upon faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, he surrendered his will and yielded his life to God. He was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Ulysses, Kansas, by his father on February 4, 1968.

Mark was multi-talented consequently, he accomplished about everything he set out to do. He was a farmer at heart and agriculture became his occupational focus.

In the fall of 1982, Mark married Melissa Schwein. They were blessed with two children, Miranda and David.

Mark’s life was not without its difficulties. But his outgoing personality enabled him to win many friends and he has left us with a wealth of happy memories. We will recall these often because they are dear to our hearts.

His survivors include his children, Miranda and husband, Will Lewis, Hutchinson, Kansas, and David and wife, Amanda, Kansas City, Kansas; five grandchildren; brother, Harold and Lavauna Isaac, Ulysses, Kansas, sisters, Mary Beth and Dale Koehn, Vanceboro, North Carolina, Ruth Ann and husband, Rodney Koehn, Ulysses, Kansas, and Saundra and Weldon Nightingale, Eakly, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Grant Mennonite Church in rural Grant County with Minister Denton Koehn, Minister Stuart Jantzen, Minister Karlan Koehn, and Minister Sheldon Nightingale officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas. Interment will follow at the Grant Mennonite Cemetery.
