Mark Allen Watson, age 61, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at his home in Troy, Missouri. He was born February 21, 1951 in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Ross Jr. and Minnie L (Stringer) Watson.

Mark grew up in Manter and graduated from Stanton County High School with the class of 1969. He served for twelve years for the United State Marine Corp. He served as an avionics electrician during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Disney Land in California as an electrician. Mark married Carol Lindsey in California. The last 25 years they have called Troy, Missouri home. Mark enjoyed traveling, fishing, and tending to his fruit, herb and flower gardens.

Survivors include one son, Brad Watson and wife Nikki of Troy, Missouri; daughter, Sonja Watson of California; mother, Minnie Watson of Manter, Kansas; brother, Neal Watson and wife Carolyn of Quapaw, Oklahoma; two sisters, Susan Walker and husband Gary of McPherson, Kansas, Marla Welch and husband Greg of Lawrence, Kansas; and one granddaughter, Aubry Ann.

Mark is preceded in death by his father; and wife, Carol.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 01, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Manter, Kansas with Reverend Don Hasty officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas with Military Rites conducted by Johnson VFW Post #3684. Friends may call Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Memorial contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to Wounded Warrior Project, Stanton County EMS or Walsh, Colorado EMS in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
