Marion “Jim” Crosier

Marion “Jim” Crosier, born on November 21, 1944, in Canadian, Texas, to Robert Bryan and Anna Mae (Powell) Crosier, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2023, in Kansas City, KS. Jim’s life was filled with diverse experiences and an unwavering dedication to his family.

Jim began his journey by graduating from Canadian High School in Texas. Throughout his life, he pursued various occupations, including being a meat cutter, an oil field worker, and the proud owner of Crosier’s Carpet Cleaning Service and Crosier’s Gun Shop. Following his retirement, Jim took on a new role as a Para Van driver for the City of Liberal, KS, where he made a positive impact on the lives of those he served.
A faithful member and Elder of All Nations Church, Jim’s deep-rooted faith guided his actions and relationships. On August 20, 1976, he married the love of his life, Rosemary (Graber) Lee, and together they built a beautiful life centered around love, family, and shared values.

Jim will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his children: son James “Jim” N. Crosier and his wife Cathi, daughter Christi Lee Miranda, and son Scott Crosier and his wife Casey. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Haley and M.J. Lawson, Caleb and Javier Crosier-Torres, Kinsi Graham, Lexi and Alejandro Avila, Bayli Crosier, Annaka Crosier, Milo Crosier, and Julia Miranda. Additionally, Jim was blessed with four great grandchildren, Weston Graham, Arabella Avila, Kaiya Lawson, Reign Avila, and one on the way

He is survived by his sister, Anna Marie Neese of Colorado, and his brother Raymond Crosier and his wife Novella of Oklahoma. Jim’s extended family includes numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends who held a special place in his heart.

Preceding him in death were his parents, as well as his sisters Naomi Beard of Oklahoma and Mary Lee Murray of Kansas. While mourning his loss, we find solace in the memories he shared, particularly those of his adventurous upbringing in Canadian. Jim’s storytelling prowess captivated us, and his tales, including the legendary “Land of Itchygoomie,” and the mischievous doings with his cousins Curtis and Don Crosier, brought laughter to all who listened!

Jim took great pride in his children and grandchildren, finding immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones. His passions included hunting, metal detecting, collecting arrowheads, and showcasing his skills on the barbecue grill. Above all, Jim was a man of God, driven by his faith and dedicated to spreading the love of Jesus to all whom he encountered.

To honor Jim’s life and legacy, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 2nd, at the Baker Arts Building in Liberal, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you take your loved ones out for barbecue and enjoy each other’s company. It means more than anything else.

During this difficult time, let us remember Jim as a kind-hearted and devoted individual who touched the lives of many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
